LINEAGE

• Authorized on January 13, 1777 as Capt. Allen McLane's Company, Patton's Additional Continental Regiment, an element of the Main Continental Army.
• Organized between February 14- April 23, 1777 at Dover, Delaware, with recruits from Delaware.
• Withdrawn on December 16, 1778 from Patton's Additional Continental Regiment and assigned to the Delaware Regiment, an element of the 3rd Virginia Brigade of the Main Continental Army.
• Withdrawn on July 13, 1779 from the Delaware Regiment and assigned to Lee's Corps of Partisan Light Dragoons as the 4th (Dismounted) Troop.
