  • Authorized on April 8, 1777 in the Pennsylvania State Troops as Capt. John Pugh's Independent Company to guard Powder Mill at French Creek.
  • Organized in May 1777 at Philadelphia.
  • Consolidated on June 17, 1778 with the Pennsylvania State Regiment of Foot.
