The Continental Army of 1777-1780

On 16 September 1776, Congress adopted the plan known as the eighty-eight battalion resolve, it called for eighty-eight regiments Organized according to the structure approved in 1776. Congress' estimates of the population of each state governed its allocation of regiments.
